Poly designs for a new work and life landscape, Podcast
"Our business is virtual collaboration,” says Jennifer Adams Senior Director Go-to-Market Strategy, and Programs at Poly. “That’s what everything we make is designed so this has a real proving ground for our employees and our customers.” The pandemic has changed the way we work as we start to return to the office. In this podcast we discuss the importance of redesigning the office for hybrid work and why Poly believes a one-size fits all approach will fail. Adams discusses how Poly’s product development is driven by research the company does on how people live and work. Poly’s products, even pre-pandemic, often make their way through people’s day, in many places, even before the work from anywhere concept came into clear view over the past year. “Our research provides that insight to our customers,” notes Adams, pointing out that now, not only does Poly’s careful study of different types of work and workers help with product development, but the research is also useful to the customers themselves as they too learn more about the remote environments their workers use, and work to pull together buying strategies for the hybrid workplace. Adams discusses some work with Zoom and some recent product development that takes video conferencing to a new level, creating an experience where people sitting in a conference room appear in the same kind of configuration as those attending from home, or remote. Adams discusses the centrality of how the personas that Poly derives from its research are very central in building products to closely match the specific needs and challenges that people in various occupations, verticals and situations, encounter.
