It was announced this week that Metaswitch will be acquired by Microsoft, marking a very notable milestone in the 5G communications transformation underway. Two weeks ago, Metaswitch announced that its Access Gateway Function (AGF) solution had been successfully tested by Vodafone for the industry’s first implementation of the 5G Wireless Wireline Convergence (WWC) AGF standard. We sat down with Martin Taylor, Metaswitch’s CTO, to better understand this story. We learn about 5G Wireless Wireline Convergence (5G WWC) and how 5G WWC impacts UC.
