Do you want a way to seamlessly integrate your communication tools/services? How about combining phone, messaging and video conferencing with email and any other non-real-time modes of communication in a service across multiple devices? You then have Unified Communication as a Service (UCaaS).
CPaaS stands for Communications Platform as a Service. CPaaS is a cloud-based platform that supports developers who want to add real-time communications features (voice, video, and messaging) to their own applications without needing to build backend infrastructure and interfaces. Think of CPaaS as tailoring your own version of UCaaS embedded in applications.
Sacha Gera, SVP Cloud Products at GENBAND https://www.genband.com/products/kandy-solutionsand Gary Audin recorded this podcast at the GENBAND Perspectives 17 conference. Sacha provides context for comparing UCaaS and CPaaS. He talks about the value of adding unique capabilities to business processes that build upon UC functionality. He discusses the user interface and the use experience that CPaaS can provide through APIs and SDKs. The creation of Kandy wrappers allows developers who have little knowledge of network operations to quickly produce applications. He discusses time-to-market and time-to- failure scenarios that have become important in the rapidly changing business environments.
