Detroit and Evansville join Chicago, Cleveland and Columbus as Company Continues Broad Rollout of 110 Mbps Internet Service for Businesses
ENGLEWOOD, Colo. – (Jan. 13, 2015) –
WOW! Business, a communications and cloud service provider, today announced the availability of high-speed Internet service in Detroit and Evansville with new plans that deliver up to 110 Mbps downstream and 15 Mbps upstream. Detroit and Evansville join Chicago, Cleveland and Columbus as WOW! Business continues to more than double Internet access speeds the company offers to businesses in the Midwest U.S. and other regions it serves. The 110 Mbps service, delivered by cable modem, complements the expanding WOW! Business service lineup of Internet, voice, data and cloud computing services. The new faster Internet service is intended for businesses that have outgrown their current plans and require more bandwidth tailored to suit their emerging broadband needs. In addition, WOW! Business has increased the speed of its popular $60 service from 15/2 Mbps to 30/5 Mbps and no longer requires bundled voice to receive the best pricing. Download/upload speed tiers of 8/1 Mbps and 60/5 Mbps are also available. “Sales of commercial services we offer directly to our SMB, enterprise and wholesale customers, and indirectly through members of our Partner Alliance program, are rising annually at a double-digit rate,” said Brad Cheedle, senior vice president of WOW! Business. “The introduction of higher speed Internet plans throughout our service footprint allows WOW! Business to meet escalating demand for a competitively priced and flexible alternative to other high-speed Internet services, such as DSL, from a company highly regarded for providing prompt and exceptional customer service.” WOW! Business provides IP-based network, data, voice and cloud services for small and mid-sized business, enterprise, government and wholesale customers. The company owns and operates more than 40,000 miles of local fiber-optic and coaxial networks in the Southeast, Mid-Atlantic and Midwest which, along with its data centers, provide customers with scalable, low-latency access to national carrier backbones. “Doubling download speeds and increasing uploads by threefold allows WOW! Business to augment our service portfolio in the Midwest to provide businesses in those markets with a cost-effective and reliable way to enhance their productivity and customer and employee experiences,” explained Steve Gorman, vice president of product management for WOW! “Our higher speed Internet plans also allow businesses to more efficiently utilize the WOW! Business cloud infrastructure for offsite data backup and recovery, IaaS and other cloud computing services we offer.” WOW! Business will offer the faster Internet speeds in additional Midwest markets in the first quarter of this year, along with cities it serves in other parts of the country. More at
