Seeks developers to participate in beta for communications platform that makes building communications-enabled apps quick and easy HOUSTON, March 10, 2014 – Voxofon (
www.voxofon.com), a rapidly growing provider of mobile apps utilizing over-the-top (OTT) voice and messaging services, today announced the launch of Bit6 (
www.bit6.com), which promises to revolutionize how developers integrate communications into their apps. Bit6 leverages the proven real-time cloud-based communications platform on which Voxofon's apps for iOS, Android, Windows and Blackberry were developed. The Bit6 launch coincides with the company's presentation later today as a finalist in the SXSW Interactive HATCH Pitch Competition. Bit6 will compete against 11 other finalists chosen from applicants around the world. Using the Bit6 communications platform, developers can quickly and easily integrate proven voice/video calling, texting and multimedia messaging into their apps. The Bit6 platform provides a suite of essential application integration modules including Identity Management, Social Map, and Virtual Wallet to help integrate the communication capabilities into a complete end-user experience. "Research from Smith's Point Analytics LLC shows that 56 percent of mobile developers want to integrate communications into their applications, but it takes a lot of time, resource, and expertise to do so," said Alexey Goloshubin, CEO and CTO of Bit6. "Our goal is to unlock a new wave of innovation among developers who can imagine amazing things to create by weaving voice/video calling, texting and multimedia messaging into their apps with just a few lines of code." Bit6 has opened the application process for its beta program, which will remain open through April 10, 2014. Developers can complete the short form at
www.bit6.com/contact/ to apply. Fifty developers will be chosen from the applicants and will be contacted by April 17, 2014. The market for communications-enabled apps is exploding. According to analysts, the real-time communications platform market is rapidly growing and expected to reach $4.7 Billion by 2018. "We are focused on making Bit6 the easiest and most complete communications platform for developers," said Goloshubin. "We understand the needs and requirements of developers because we already have apps running on the Bit6 communications platform. This is a proven concept – the Bit6 platform is already in the market powering one of the top grossing communications apps with more than a million registered users." Joining Goloshubin on the Bit6 leadership team are Vice President of Strategy Roberto Moctezuma, Vice President of Operations, Tom Schulz, Vice President of Development Julia Goloshubina, and Vice President of Marketing Jonathan Ha.
