August 26, 2015 – Voipoint, provider of VoIP solutions in Poland, has signed a distribution agreement with Edgewater Networks, a US manufacturer of network security solutions including Session Border Controllers (SBC). The partnership will include distribution of Edgewater Networks’ equipment in Poland as well as Central and Eastern Europe. According to estimates by Infonetics Research’s Q2-15 report, the global market for SBC solutions in 2018 will be worth 370 million USD, of which more than 190 million will be in the European market. Session border controllers are the interface to a company’s network and are available to businesses of all sizes. They provide the control tools necessary for VoIP calls and protect the corporate network against DDoS attacks, DoS attacks, and fraud. SBC features include traffic monitoring, firewall, network topology hiding and NAT Traversal. “The partnership with Edgewater Networks expands Voipoint’s portfolio of products with comprehensive IP protection categories: voice, video, and data security. While these solutions are well known in the US market, they are not as well known in Central and Eastern European markets, who need more education,” said Monika Jozwiak, Director of Sales and Business Development Voipoint. “We are confident that with the support of Edgewater Networks, we will be able to achieve two main goals in a short period of time – to increase market awareness about SBCs and improve sales performance, “she added. “We are pleased to announce this partnership with Voipoint. The combination of Voipoint and Edgewater Networks’ Intelligent Edge products provides a valuable solution to businesses in Central and Eastern Europe, “said Dave Norman, CEO of Edgewater Networks. Voipoint will be offering two of Edgewater Networks’ product lines: EdgeMarc for SIP communications and EdgeProtect for video communication. The EdgeProtect line supports Microsoft Lync SIP Trunk and is compatible with solutions from suppliers such as Cisco, LifeSize, Microsoft Lync, Polycom, Tandberg or Vidyo.
