Vodafone Germany Selects BroadSoft’s UC-One Platform to Support its New Cloud-Based UC Services

Vodafone Germany has selected BroadSoft’s UC-One® platform to support its new cloud-based UC services. Vodafone One-Net Business is a flexible, cost-effective, scalable, and integrated solution that targets the sizable SMB marketplace.  broadsoft-logo-lrgOne Net Business: Complete Work in the Cloud for SMEs • Fixed, mobile, instant messaging and video conferencing on one platform • Complete mobile integration provides added value compared to traditional cloud systems • Perfect for the mobile worker: All functions available on your smartphone • Technology partnership with market leading unified communications provider BroadSoft Dusseldorf, March 8, 2016 - For companies and their employees, the variety of new communication opportunities is not only an advantage, but also a challenge. Currently employees often use separate mobile and landline phones and often manage two mailboxes and two call directories. For videoconferencing, they still visit specially equipped rooms and many Instant Messaging features only work on smartphones. This creates parallel infrastructures that are not compatible with each other, can be expensive and often too complex for everyday use. In addition, features that allow fast and effective collaboration, such as desktop sharing and virtual conference rooms are often not used at all. With Vodafone One Net Business, these structures and functions work together on a cloud-based telephone and unified communications system. This provides employees on any device and from any location fast and easy access to the same functions and services, and they are always reachable on the same number, whether using their mobile or landline. Our technology partner for One Net Business is BroadSoft, the leading global unified communications specialist and the offer is aimed primarily at medium-sized businesses. "Our solution is unique in the German market. With One Net Business, we have the first digital workstation with complete mobile integration to improve collaboration in business and allow employees to be more mobile and efficient. The system is characterized by its ease of use and installation", said Zoltan Bickel, Head of Product Management Enterprise at Vodafone Germany. With One Net Business Vodafone is expanding its Unified Communications portfolio. Full phone integration, one phone number, one mobile mailbox and seamless roaming Employees using One Net Business are reachable on all devices using just one landline number, even if they are using a mobile phone. With this special feature, mobile phones are fully integrated into the system via the Vodafone network. Unlike with other cloud systems, users do not need to open an extra app to call, and are not charged for data usage for calls with the solution. Even simple mobile phones can be integrated without Internet access and used as a full extension of the landline phone. In addition, users only have one mailbox, a synchronized call directory and can transfer calls without interruption from one device to another. “With only five percent of German businesses currently using cloud-based unified communication solutions, we see great potential and are delighted to enter this market with Vodafone as our partner,” said Michael Tessler, president and chief executive officer, BroadSoft. “We believe that the cloud unified communications’ value proposition of reduced costs, improved flexibility and productivity-enhancing features has powered our largest service provider customers to a growth rate almost three times greater than those offering voice only cloud solutions.” Investment quickly and simply expanded Compared to conventional telephone systems, the fixed-line telephony is handled with software over an Internet Protocol (SIP Trunk) with One Net Business. This has numerous advantages. Companies only need to run one data line and employees can make phones calls with their assigned landline number from anywhere, whether from the office, from home or on the road. In addition, they can quickly and flexibly add numbers online as needed - when new employees join or if additional temporary connections are needed for a marketing campaign. Existing or new branches and sales offices can be quickly integrated into the network, without any additional hardware on site. Where previously technicians had to complete an extensive system set up, with One Net Business, this is achieved with a few clicks of the mouse. Virtual team collaboration made easy Besides the standard functions, customers can take advantage of other services to better collaborate in virtual teams on all devices, even across locations and borders. These include features such as desktop sharing, instant messaging, video and audio conferencing and a virtual, personal conference room. In addition, One Net Business has a presence function with status information that indicates whether an employee is in a meeting or on a phone call. The user interface for the functions on all devices is identical, which considerably simplifies use. Maximum security: hosting in data centers in Germany One Net Business is hosted in two highly secure German data centers. The data connection to access the system is encrypted. Billing is on a monthly basis per user, so that initial investment costs is less than a conventional telephone system. Vodafone offers the facility as a "fully managed service”, giving customers all functions from one place. In addition, a special service team is available around the clock and new features are automatically installed through software updates. Vodafone will be at this year's CeBIT from 14 to 18 March 2016 in Hannover in pavilion 32. The telecommunications group offers its products to small businesses, medium-sized companies, corporations and public bodies under its tagline “We make you ready for Gigabit Business”. The innovative network solutions offers range from IoT and cloud applications to unified communications products. A press conference will be held at the Vodafone Pavilion (32) on Sunday, March 13th at 9:45 am.
