Portsmouth, NH and Orlando, FL. March 19, 2014Unified Office, Inc., a leading provider of SDN-based hybrid private cloud managed Unified Communications and virtual office services to small and medium businesses (SMBs), announced today at the Enterprise Connect Show the availability of its new Total Connect Now (TCN) 3.0Hybrid Private Cloud service architecture based on the Unified Office adaptive Highest Quality Routing (HQR)™ software. Independent testing from the University of New Hampshire’s Interoperability Lab (UNH-IOL) has verified that Unified Office raises the bar for Unified Communications end-to-end service quality and reliability. The testing included various failover scenarios of the Unified Office fault tolerant HQR architecture while running under load. The testing verified that current calls continued while new calls were placed on the highest quality path available at the time they were made increasing overall availability and quality of experience. The company, which sells its services through a network of channel partners, also announced the roll out of its new HTML5 based WebRTC applications. Unified office i ntegrates and simplifies an array of communications technologies creating an always relevant, easy-to-use innovative virtual office service, that enables customers to seamlessly communicate from anywhere on the device of their choice. “Everybody knows that real-time services like voice and video that traverse the Internet have not lived up to expectations in terms of Quality of Experience,” said Ray Pasquale, CEO & Founder of Unified Office. “We are pleased that the UNH-IOL has validated the performance of our TCN 3.0 service architecture and measured its ability to consistently deliver communications services to our customers with higher quality and increased reliability. With TCN 3.0 customers can make use of their broadband networks for real-time communications without worrying about frequent service quality and availability issues.” “The UNH-IOL is excited to partner with Unified Office in performing independent testing on their VoIP services platform. We have validated that the TCN 3.0 HQR service architecture indeed performs according to the specifications detailed in the test plan,” said Erica Johnson Director, University of New Hampshire InterOperability Laboratory. TCN 3.0 with HQR dynamically adapts and ensures that the highest quality path is always selected for end-to-end communications. Additional highlights of the TCN 3.0 Service Architecture include:
  • Cloud-based Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery “shadowing” of customer-premise (primary) servers; users able to communicate via a primary and shadow server.
  • Flexible Broadband Multi-Service Integration options including fixed/mobile service gateways (Cable, 4G/LTE) integration for optimal on-premise Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery.
  • Innovative HTML5-based and WebRTC communications applications such as web based receptionist consoles enabling new virtual office environments.
This new release augments Unified Office’s already reliable, highly available, geographically diverse, premise and cloud-based Total Connect Now service and network architecture for the SMB marketplace. It is available immediately to all Total Connect Now users as part of their enhanced virtual office service. “The secret to making the Internet reliable for Unified Communications is not just the reliability of the products used but how you implement the service end to end beginning at the customer premise,” said Tom Phelan, CTO & VP of Technology. “The Internet was initially commercialized for Email, Web and other non real-time services. As real-time communications such as voice have migrated to the Internet many have struggled to make it a highly reliable and dependable service end to end.” Total Connect Now is a private cloud-based managed service for a hyper-connected world that provides enhanced QoE and supports BYOD over mobile and broadband connections.
