TelcoBridges ProSBC Takes 3CX to the Cloud with Austen Consultants

Cloud-Based ProSBC Enhances Access and Security, while also Scaling Seamlessly to Serve Austen’s Cloud-Based 3CX UCaaS Customers Montreal, Canada - April 6, 2020 - TelcoBridges today announced that Fort Worth Texas-based  Austen Consultants is achieving significant success in bringing 3CX telephony solutions to customers via the cloud, with the help of TelcoBridges ProSBC session border controller software. UCaaS (Unified Communications as a Service) solutions like 3CX continue to gain popularity because they offer flexibility and mobility to connect branch offices and home workers without losing productivity.  UCaaS brings powerful communications and collaboration to users and does not require upfront CAPEX.  It scales easily, and enables customers to add lines as they grow.  This presents enormous opportunities for providers like Austen Consultants that can assemble all of the telephony services customers need from solutions like 3CX, and deliver them in a cloud-based fashion. Austen serves customers through a “100%-cloud” approach that simplifies the customer experience through a “plug-and-play” installation of IP-phones.  But in order to maximize functionality, the Session Border Controller that secures user access must be optimized for the cloud.  By using the cloud-enabled ProSBC and avoiding CPE devices, implementation and maintenance costs are reduced, while flexibility to add remote and small office customers is enhanced. Austen is using ProSBC in multiple ways:
  • To facilitate inbound remote IP-phone access, and to manage the NAT (Network Address Translation) traversal, a common issue with small office and remote users.
  • Two additional ProSBC instances are working on the back end, to manage multiple inbound and outbound SIP Trunk providers.  Austen dedicates one virtualized SBC for inbound DID traffic routing and a second SBC manages outbound traffic, making configuration and performance measurements easier.
Austen’s cloud-based system currently serves a number of schools in Texas, California, Illinois and Florida.  They also service a number of police stations, city/municipal customers and enterprise customers.  In the near future, Austen foresees a roughly five-fold growth in the number of phone and access lines. According to Austen Consultants’ Matt Ussery, ProSBC is playing a significant role in their success.  “Our business model and all of our future growth depends on one simple thing – which is happy customers,” states Ussery.  “We’re able to deliver an incredibly robust set of services, that’s easy to purchase, requires nothing more than plugging phones into the wall to deploy, and is rock solid from a customer support perspective.  TelcoBridges ProSBC helps us secure the network, blocks robo-calls, and gives us superior call routing capabilities, all in a cloud-based fashion that scales easily as we add customers and as customers add lines.” “Working environments today – now more than ever – need to be flexible and mobile, which means telephony systems must keep up to ensure that we don’t lose productivity regardless of where we work,” said Alan Percy, CMO at TelcoBridges.  “UCaaS solutions are increasingly the preferred choice for our evolving work patterns, and the combination of 3CX and ProSBC – delivered by experts like Austen Consultants - are leading the way in providing these solutions.” To view a recorded webinar with a demonstration of 3CX in the cloud with ProSBC on YouTube, visit:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YX8C0UBtEec .
