DORTMUND-BASED UNIFIED COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST SWYX STARTS CLEAN CODE INITIATIVE WITH CLEAN CODE COACH RALF WESTPHAL IN MARCH
03/08/2018 - Attention to the customer, understanding of customer expectations, comprehensible designs, efficient implementation and feedback rounds - the normal way of today's software development?
Not at all, says Ralf Westphal, initiator of the Clean Code Developer Initiative and Coach for companies facing the challenge of modern, value-based Clean Code Developments (CCD).
Swyx takes the requirements for its software in the development of unified communications solutions seriously and follows Ralf Westphal's approach with a workshop initiative lasting several months: "Convertibility and correctness of code are the core of any modern development of 'clean' code."
Martin Claßen, CTO of the Dortmund-based Unified Communications specialist, is looking forward to the project, at the end of which the Swyx colleagues will be Clean Code Apprentice: "As a technology company and innovation leader, we were able to decide very quickly to commission Ralf Westphal as a proven Clean Code expert to provide training and at the same time to give Swyx colleagues enough time for this professional and personal development".
"First and foremost, our partners and customers benefit from the improvement of the code quality of Swyx products," says Claßen.
Ralf Westphal is looking forward to the coming months in which he wants to broaden his horizons with Swyx as part of the training initiative and would like to see clean code methods also understood as communication and perception training: "Clean Code was and is more than just a trend word and above all not an end in itself. The concept must not be placed above the product owner, the customer: With Clean Code, Swyx will also create products that have been conceived from the outset in the truest sense of the word by customer and developer together."
