Plantronics Launches New Headsets Addressing the Challenges of Today’s Open Office

Savi 8200 Series and Voyager 4200 UC Series help tame distractions and noise in the modern workplace Santa Cruz, Calif. – October 9, 2018 – As the debate around the productivity of open office plans continues, Plantronics (NYSE: PLT), an audio pioneer and communications technology leader, today announced new headsets that reduce costly distractions and noise for employees to be more productive. The new Savi 8200 Series of wireless headsets allows professionals in an open office to clearly hear a call while at their desk or while walking into a nearby huddle room. According to a recent  Oxford Economics study, nearly two-thirds of employees say that a lack of quiet space for focused work has a negative effect on their productivity, satisfaction, and well-being. Plantronics’ new Savi and Voyager headsets deliver technology for reducing noise and distraction, and give users the ability to be more mobile in open plan environments. “The concept of open office environments can work smarter with the right technology and tools to empower communication, connections, and collaboration among employees while managing noise and distractions,” said Shantanu Sarkar, EVP of the Headset Business Unit for Plantronics. “Our mobility and noise cancelling innovations with Savi 8200 and Voyager 4200 headsets will make an immediate difference on employee productivity and job satisfaction by reducing open office distractions.” The new Savi 8200 Series of wireless headsets features an unprecedented range of up to 590 feet, so professionals can roam or relocate away from their desk, like moving to a nearby huddle room for an important or private conversation without losing the clear audio connection. The Savi 8200 Series headsets include Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) and a new close conversation-limiting feature, meaning that the voices of co-workers in the office won’t be part of a conversation. The Savi 8200 Series headsets, which come in hi-fi stereo or mono options, are essential for simply better conversations in the open office environment or any busy workplace. For “corridor warriors” who need to move throughout the office, Plantronics introduced the Voyager 4200 UC Series of headsets. The newest addition to the award-winning Voyager line combines wireless freedom with premium grade audio and a full-length microphone boom for crystal clear conversations. The Voyager 4200 UC Series headsets are the first Voyager headsets to receive the Skype for Business Open Office certification. Employees get over-the-ear comfort with up to 12 hours of talk time and dynamic mute alerts, offering a great experience as they multi-task around the office. The Savi 8200 and Voyager 4200 headsets integrate with Plantronics Manager Pro, the software-as-a-service (SaaS) subscription, sold separately, so IT professionals can centrally manage and provision these headsets with updates and new capabilities. Plantronics Manager Pro provides data analytics on device usage to showcase productivity and anticipate and solve problems before they disrupt employees. The Savi 8200 Series headsets are available today and  Voyager 4200 UC Series headsets are available for order now, and will be shipping at the end of October.
