October 11, 2022 - Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck welcomes Will Dunham to its Government Relations team as a policy director. Based in the firm’s D.C. office, Dunham will use his experience as the deputy chief of staff for policy to House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) to focus on the legislative challenges facing the current Congress and the new Congress following the midterms. “Dunham brings an extraordinary understanding of Congressional Republicans and far reaching policy expertise,” said Marc Lampkin, Brownstein’s Government Relations chair. “He’s an all-star who will add significant depth and connectivity to our best-in-class bipartisan, bicameral team.” Dunham served for more than 13 years in Congress, developing deep legislative experience as well as relationships across the Republican ecosystem and across the aisle. He served for almost seven years as Minority Leader McCarthy’s top policy staffer, lead staffer in four-corner negotiations and liaison to the Republican committee staff directors. “I feel fortunate that I get to go from one great team to another with my move to Brownstein. I’ve been impressed with Marc Lampkin and Norm Brownstein’s thoughtful leadership at the firm, the team they have assembled and Brownstein’s consistent relevance in every major policy battle,” said Dunham. Dunham’s Republican credentials go beyond his time in the minority leader’s office. He also served as an executive director to now Minority Whip Steve Scalise (R-LA) at the Republican Study Committee, the largest ideological caucus in Congress, where he worked to provide tools to Republican House members to craft, analyze and advance policy. This is in addition to his time working in the office of Rep. Tom McClintock (R-CA) where he handled budgetary issues. Dunham received his bachelor’s degree from Hillsdale College.
