Mast Mobile Implements a Pioneering Communications Platform and Billing Model with Oracle Communications Solution

Oracle Communications Billing and Revenue Management enables the mobile communications start-up to rate and bill customers separately for personal and business usage.

Today’s employees are mobile in and outside of the office—a challenge as companies try to integrate communications channels and tools, as well as social media, to help increase productivity while managing costs. That’s the problem that Mast Mobile solves. The two-year old technology company provides an end-to-end, mobile-first, unified communications platform that helps enterprises and their employees manage business and personal data on a single device. To deliver its platform, Mast Mobile deployed Oracle Communications Billing and Revenue Management in October 2014, enabling the start-up to define mobile policies for different groups of employees, automate split billing to distinguish between work and personal use, eliminate desk phones, and protect both company data and employee privacy. “Mast Mobile enables a person to have multiple numbers on one device. And for that to work, we need to have a relationship with the individual, as well as with the company,” said David Messenger, cofounder and CEO, Mast Mobile. “Our billing and rating engine had to be exceptionally flexible to allow us to correctly bill both the business account and the individual account. Oracle Communications Billing and Revenue Management is flexible and scalable. As a start-up that regularly releases new product offerings, a dynamic billing and rating engine is a key part of our growth strategy.” Oracle Communications Billing and Revenue Management provides a complete solution for managing revenue and supporting business processes that incorporate generation, capture, collection, and assurance of revenue. Mast Mobile uses the solution to:
  • Rate call and data session information as either a business or personal cost
  • Aggregate call and data session records and deliver them in an easy-to-understand, meaningful bill to both the business and end user
  • Quickly launch and bill for new services
“The communications, media, and cloud markets are undergoing significant transformations,” said Doug Suriano, senior vice president and general manager, Oracle Communications. “Both traditional service providers and industry newcomers like Mast Mobile are trying to deliver services to consumers and enterprises that oftentimes require a new kind of billing process—one that is fluid, allowing providers to rapidly introduce and modify product and service offerings. We’re proud that Oracle Communications Billing and Revenue Management delivers the level of flexibility and scalability that meets the needs of all kinds of service providers, from established telecommunications companies to technology start-ups.” Mast Mobile also collaborated with Minacs, a Gold level member of Oracle PartnerNetwork (OPN), which provides the solution in a private cloud delivery model, simplifying Mast Mobile’s IT operations and enabling a shorter deployment time.
