Move Strengthens Masergy’s Portfolio of Cloud Offerings
DALLAS - July 10, 2012 - Masergy Communications, Inc. has acquired Broadcore Communications Inc., a leading provider of cloud communications solutions. The acquisition will bolster Masergy’s cloud services portfolio with a full suite of global unified communications services – including hosted voice and SIP trunking – built on the BroadSoft BroadWorks platform. The result will be a robust cloud communications offering from Masergy for its enterprise customers. “Broadcore was an early adopter of the BroadWorks platform and now is leveraging this technology to offer a carrier-grade cloud communications service to global enterprises,” said Michael Tessler, president and CEO at Broadsoft. “Masergy’s acquisition of Broadcore now puts them on the short list of global service providers who deliver cloud communications natively on their own fabric.” The addition of Broadcore continues Masergy’s product strategy of offering cloud-based services on top of its global MPLS platform to enable Internet bypass and hybrid cloud communications strategies. Adding cloud services to their offerings gives both Masergy and Broadcore clients greater agility and efficiency needed to meet current and future service needs. “This acquisition made sense because of the natural synergies between our companies, as well as the solutions we provide to our customers,” said John Dumbleton, senior vice president of business development at Masergy. “By combining the strengths of Masergy’s global managed network with Broadcore’s hosted unified communications systems, we now can offer a very potent and comprehensive suite of cloud communications solutions to the marketplace.” Broadcore will continue to operate as it does today, but as a wholly owned subsidiary of Masergy. The move will provide Broadcore’s existing clientele access to Masergy’s global MPLS network, which was purpose-built to deliver real-time applications like Broadcore’s voice, video and mobility offerings. “Today’s acquisition means that Broadcore will continue on as a provider of cloud communications, but with a very powerful and respected network and parent company supporting our offerings and our customers,” said Monty Ferdowsi, president of Broadcore. “Our communications platform, together with Masergy’s premier network, will give companies access to top-quality, cloud-based networking and communications solutions.” More at http://www.masergy.comBrowse these posts below for the latest in cloud communications news and insights.
