Intelisys Names J.R. Cook SVP, West Region

Intelisys LogoTransitions Cook from Business Development to West Region Sales Leadership Role Petaluma, CA (August 23, 2016) – Intelisys Communications, Inc., the nation’s leading Technology Services Distributor, has announced that J.R. Cook will lead West Region sales efforts for the company as Senior Vice President, West Region. Cook joined Intelisys in 2014 as Senior Vice President, Business Development, and has since delivered exceptional results on several key projects and programs, including the tech services distributor’s international expansion. “J.R. has been the driving force behind some major initiatives for Intelisys in the two years he has been with the company,” said Jay Bradley, Intelisys President. “Perhaps most well known for putting the spotlight on key international opportunities for our Sales Partners in the United States and abroad, J.R. has created tremendous excitement within the channel community and has been invaluable as we expand into new markets. J.R.’s reputation as a leader and tireless executive will serve him well as he tackles the new opportunities ahead, alongside our Sales Partners. For those of us who have had the good fortune to work closely with J.R. these last few years, we look forward to watching him thrive in our West Region.” Prior to his tenure with Intelisys, Cook served as Channel Chief for EarthLink Business and New Edge Networks, and held the role of Vice President for TelePacific Communications. In his new role as SVP, West Region, Cook leads a strategic business development function, leading Intelisys Sales Partners to new levels of achievement and success. He will lead and support an established West Region team that includes Senior Managers of Strategic Partner Development Samantha Burkhalter and Chris Oppold, as well as Bob Faber and Steve Robb from the Intelisys Cloud Services and Complex Bids team. “I am humbled to be given this opportunity to support and affect the incredible Sales Partners in the Intelisys West Region,” said Cook. “As home to HQ, our West Region is also home to many of our longest-standing and most loyal Partners. It will an incredible honor to provide the same exceptional standard of support that each of these relationships was founded upon. As we continue to grow our West Region team, I look forward to identifying and hiring the best possible people to support our Sales Partners as they grow their own businesses.” Following announcements earlier this month that Intelisys has signed a definitive agreement to be acquired by ScanSource, Cook noted: “This new chapter will be one of the most transformational periods in the history of the channel. After 20 years in the channel, I am incredibly grateful to be at the forefront of this shift, and in a position to be able to truly enable and influence Sales Partners in the West Region to capitalize on real convergence between the IT and telecom channels for the first time.” Cook brings a wealth of experience leading both regional and national programs, as well as a deep understanding of strategic channel enablement, to his new role with Intelisys. His successes as SVP Business Development, including bringing the lucrative Verizon Renewal Program—which allowed Intelisys Sales Partners to renew and upsell existing Verizon customers, including previously protected Enterprise Accounts—have positioned him as the ideal candidate to drive increased value for Intelisys’ Sales Partners and Supplier Partners as SVP, West Region.
