July 1, 2021 - On June 29, Grupo Aire participated in the “Forum of local operators: the voice of emptied Spain” with the presence of the Commercial, Marketing and Clients Director, Carlos Cortés . An event organized by the magazine specialized in the Networks & Telecom sector that was attended by the General Director of Telecommunications, Arturo Azcorra, as well as the president of AOTEC, Antonio García; the president of ASOTEM, Juan Manuel Castellano; Virginia Rodríguez from the CNMC; and representatives of different companies. The objective of the event was to analyze the present and the future of local operators, as well as the role they have played during the pandemic, moments in which society has needed much more, if possible, of telecommunications to continue operating. Lucía Bonilla, director of the publication, began the event by talking about how that Empty Spain had been filled again since the beginning of the pandemic due to teleworking and the role that local operators have played in it. He also pointed out that we are witnessing a moment of concentration in the sector in which survival is linked to offering something more than connectivity. Arturo Azcorra, for his part, spoke of the role that local operators play in the digital transformation of Spain and pointed out the two plans that are being mobilized from the Government: the Fixed Connectivity plan, with the objective that 100% of the population will have a 100Mbps connection in 2025; and the UNICO plan, which seeks to continue reducing the digital divide by working on broadband, 5G and research. In addition, he pointed out that achieving the best connectivity is everyone's job, including the General State Administration, small and large operators, city councils to facilitate deployments, companies and users.
Round table to debate the challenges of the sector The event featured a round table discussion in which the challenges of the sector were discussed, in which the Commercial, Marketing and Clients Director of Grupo Aire Carlos Cortés participated, who highlighted the comments on the role of local operators in pandemic and He explained that from his point of view, what makes them different from the big ones is the closeness, quality and attention they provide.
"For this reason, at Grupo Aire we consider that the future of the local operator will be linked to the evolution of the differential services that it is capable of implementing, the speed or agility with which it is carried out and the strengthening of these three pillars"
For Cortés, the place where the services are provided also plays a fundamental role, because they do so in many towns where large operators have not yet deployed their infrastructure, so local operators have been the true ones responsible for reducing, and in some Eliminate cases, the digital divide that exists between the urban and rural world . In addition, he expressed the firm intention of Grupo Aire to be the technological partner that responds to all the present and future needs of local operators.
"We have been doing it since our birth, more than 20 years ago, in terms of connectivity, both radio and fiber, fixed telephony, mobile, content transport solutions, through our OTT / IPTV TV platform solution."
