Greg Brower Returns to Brownstein

Wynn’s Chief Global Compliance Officer rejoins firm as a shareholder

Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck is pleased to announce that Greg Brower will be rejoining the firm as a shareholder in the Litigation Department. Based in the firm’s Nevada and Washington, D.C., offices, Brower will use his more than 30 years of experience both as a first-chair litigator and senior government official to represent clients in federal and state investigations and regulatory matters, high-stakes litigation and crisis management. He most recently served as chief global compliance officer at Wynn Resorts, a long-time Brownstein client.

“Greg’s background is unmatched in the legal industry. His compliance work at Wynn and previous roles as a federal prosecutor, Capitol Hill insider and elected policymaker give him a rare combination of experience that allows him to provide insights from not only the c-suite, but also from a legal, regulatory and policy perspective,” said Rich Benenson, Brownstein’s managing partner. “Having Greg come back to the firm is a big win for our clients who will benefit from his work on congressional investigations, civil and criminal litigation, regulatory and enforcement actions, cybersecurity and gaming matters, and federal and state government relations.”

Prior to joining Brownstein and Wynn, Brower served as a senior FBI executive, spanning two administrations, where he worked closely with high-ranking officials in the U.S. Department of Justice, the U.S. intelligence community and with key leaders on Capitol Hill. As head of the FBI’s Office of Congressional Affairs, Brower served as chief liaison to Congress on critical oversight and investigations issues, including the 2018 reauthorization of FISA 702 authority for which he received a National Intelligence Meritorious Unit citation from the director of national intelligence. Previously, as the FBI’s deputy general counsel, he led and managed more than 100 attorneys and staff responsible for a diverse portfolio of legal matters, including litigation, privacy, procurement, compliance and ethics.

Beyond his recent service at the FBI, Brower has a long history of distinguished public service. At the federal level, he has also served as the U.S. attorney for the District of Nevada, and as both general counsel and inspector general at the U.S. Government Publishing Office. At the state level, he served as an elected member during five regular sessions of the Nevada Legislature, where he was chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee. He has also served on the Nevada Gaming Policy Committee.

“I hope to be able to use my recent experience with Wynn, a world-renowned gaming company, to continue to provide counsel to clients on a range of compliance and regulatory issues,” said Brower. “Returning to Brownstein was an easy choice, as I really never stopped thinking of the firm’s great lawyers and policy professionals as my partners. The firm’s ‘all in’ approach to client service is perfectly in line with my approach to helping clients solve complex problems.”

Brower received his bachelor’s degree from University of California, Berkeley, his J.D. from George Washington University Law School and completed a professional program in executive management of regulatory and enforcement agencies at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. Before attending law school, he served on active duty in the U.S. Navy as a surface warfare officer.
