Gamma Group Announces New Leadership Team for Germany

Gamma Communications plc (“Gamma”), a leading provider of technology-based communication solutions across Europe, has announced a strengthened leadership team in Germany following its acquisition of STARFACE in February 2025. The newly expanded management structure brings together key appointments across Gamma, STARFACE, and estos, designed to deepen collaboration and drive a unified, strategic approach to growth across the DACH region.
The new leadership team includes:
- Florian Buzin, CEO of STARFACE, will expand his responsibilities by taking on the role of Managing Director of Gamma Communications in Germany, in addition to his existing duties within the STARFACE Group.
- Andreas Hampel, longtime Managing Director of HFO Telecom and a renowned NGN-SIP expert, returns to the group as Managing Director of Gamma Communications GmbH and will lead the SIP and NGN divisions.
- Christoph Scheuermann, previously Head of Product Management at STARFACE, joins the STARFACE Group executive team as Managing Director for Product Management, Marketing, and Operations.
- Alexander Seyferth, formerly CEO of estos, will additionally serve as Managing Director of Sales for the STARFACE Group, responsible for Sales, Customer Care/Customer Success, and the Academy.
- Thomas Weiß, CTO of STARFACE, will continue in his role as Managing Director overseeing Development, Quality Assurance, Operating System Deployment, and Corporate IT.
- Gerben Wijbenga expands his role as Managing Director Gamma Europe, assuming overall coordination across Europe, including responsibility for operations in the DACH region, the Benelux countries, and, in future, Spain.
Continuity remains a key success factor within the group:
Peter Nowack will continue to lead Placetel with his proven expertise, and Dimitrios Nikolaidis will remain in his role as Managing Director of Epsilon Telecom (Fusion IoT). Both, along with Florian Buzin, will continue reporting to Gerben Wijbenga. This stability in leadership creates a strong foundation for sustainable success and future development across the group.
Jürgen Signer, current COO of STARFACE, will retire in May 2025 – a move that has been long planned and is not connected to the Gamma acquisition.
“By strengthening our leadership team, we’re laying the groundwork to further expand our presence in the market. What’s particularly special is that all new roles are filled by long-standing colleagues: both Christoph Scheuermann and Alexander Seyferth have been part of the STARFACE Group for many years. I’m especially pleased to welcome back Andreas Hampel, a long-time partner and familiar face. All three are industry leaders in their respective fields, and we warmly welcome them to the executive team,” said Florian Buzin.
“I’m absolutely thrilled to be back at Gamma and to write the next chapters of the company’s journey alongside Florian and Gerben. It’s fantastic to be working again with such an outstanding team and to build on the momentum we’ve created together. Our new structure gives us the flexibility and speed we need to respond even more effectively to the needs of our partners and customers. I’m genuinely excited for what lies ahead,” said Andreas Hampel.
“The merger of STARFACE and estos has already generated significant synergies across multiple areas. The logical next step is to consolidate the sales efforts of both companies, a process we aim to complete by the end of the year. I’m looking forward to this exciting challenge, which is a cornerstone of our ambitious growth strategy,” added Alexander Seyferth.
“Together, we have an extensive and loyal partner channel that supports our strengths. Our product portfolios are highly complementary – which puts us in an excellent position to shape the market sustainably and drive even greater success for our partners,” said Christoph Scheuermann, Managing Director for Product Management, Marketing, and Operations, STARFACE Group.
CTO Thomas Weiß added: “Our collaboration is grounded in shared strengths: we bring a broad technology stack and deep expertise to the table, and benefit from the extensive resources of our parent company. This gives us the ideal foundation to drive innovation faster and deliver future-ready solutions to our customers.”
“With this strong leadership team in place, the Gamma Group is well positioned for the future. Our close collaboration and shared expertise allow us to identify synergies early and maintain a holistic view of our business,” explained Gerben Wijbenga, Managing Director Gamma Europe. “I’m very excited to take on this new role at the intersection of Gamma, STARFACE, and estos. The German team has been a role model in many ways – with its innovative spirit, its dedicated community, and its pioneering role in cloud and SIP – and I’m confident we will benefit greatly from one another.”
