July 23, 2018 - Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck is pleased to announce that Nadeam Elshami, former chief of staff to Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi, will join the firm as a policy director in the Government Relations Department where he will provide strategic advice on policy, politics, communications and navigating Washington. He will be based in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office. “With the potential shift in the House coming up this fall, Nadeam’s high-profile experience working with Democratic leadership will enhance the strategic insight we provide to our clients,” said Elizabeth Gore, Brownstein’s government relations department chair. “As things continue to be unsettled in Washington, Nadeam strengthens our bipartisan, bicameral approach to client service which is the cornerstone of our practice.” During his time with Leader Pelosi, Elshami served as chief of staff overseeing every aspect of operations, member relations, communications and policy. Prior to that, he served as her communications director and senior advisor working on messaging around the successful passage of the Affordable Care Act, Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and other historic legislation. He also served as senior communications advisor for Assistant Democratic Leader Sen. Dick Durbin, deputy chief of staff and communications director to Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky and deputy press secretary to Sen. Barbara Boxer. Prior to joining Brownstein, Elshami was an executive vice president at Signal Group. He was also named a spring 2018 fellow at the Georgetown Institute of Politics and Public Service, was included in Politico’s Playbook Power List of the 30 most powerful people and groups in Trump’s Washington and is a regular CNN contributor. Elshami received his B.A. from the University of Evansville.
