FCC Chairman Pai Issues Mandate on Shaken/Stir Caller ID Authentication

FCC Chairman Pai today announced that he will propose that the Commission adopt an order to require implementation of the SHAKEN/STIR framework by all originating and terminating voice service providers by June 30,2021.  He will also seek comment on extending that deadline for small or rural providers and methods to address implementation in legacy, TDM networks. The Commission will take up these matters at the March 31st open meeting.  CCA will provide further information when a draft of the order and further notice becomes available in the coming days.
