Destiny takes the next international step and joins forces with French telecom provider OpenIP

Entry into the French market fits in with the ambition to become a European leader in secure cloud communication solutions
Brussels, 17 December 2019 - Destiny, the Belgian provider of secure cloud communication solutions for innovative companies, has entered into an alliance with the French telecom provider OpenIP. The company was founded in 2005 by Laurent Silvestri and is a unified communications provider with a 100% indirect market approach. OpenIP offers its network of more than 1300 IT and telecom integrators and partners an e-business platform to sell, implement, support and invoice IT, telecom and cloud solutions and thus help accelerate the digitization of companies. OpenIP shares with Destiny a similar culture of strong entrepreneurship and the same customer centric approach. Destiny is thus continuing to build on its European expansion, combining a strong cloud platform distribution platform in every country, a portfolio of solutions with high added value and local connectivity, in order to best meet the needs of SMEs and large companies. With OpenIP, Destiny can now offer a total solution for cloud services on the French market including connectivity, security, UC and VoIP. This next international step follows shortly after the recent entry of Apax Partners as a new investor in the Destiny group. The French investment fund with extensive telecom expertise, both in France and internationally, was attracted to accelerate international expansion and to continue the active acquisition strategy. Thanks to the OpenIP alliance, Destiny is growing into a company with more than 300 employees spread over offices in Belgium, the Netherlands and France. And it adjusts its projected turnover for 2019 to more than 80 million euros. Laurent Silvestri is appointed as a member of the management team of the Destiny group.
“This is another great step in the international expansion of Destiny. The alliance with OpenIP gives us the opportunity to accelerate our growth in the coming years and thus realize our ambition to evolve to a turnover of 200 million euros within three to five years ” , explains Daan De Wever, CEO of Destiny. .  “We want to be leading in the markets where we are present and look further into additional acquisitions in the French market. However, we do not grow to grow. We reinforce each other's offer, can learn a lot from each other and unite our strengths to realize our ambition and to become a leading player in Europe in the field of secure cloud communication solutions. ” Laurent Silvestri, CEO of OpenIP continues: “  The alliance with the Destiny group and the support of Apax Partners offer us the opportunity to accelerate our development on the French market. The natural synergies between our two companies, the chemistry between the teams and the strength of the group together are a real asset in order to be able to respond fully to the digitization of business telecommunications. ” And Thomas de Villeneuve, partner at Apax Partners adds:  “Destiny is taking its first step into the French market at the right time. There are enormous opportunities at the moment, because many companies still use traditional telephone systems. France is still in the start-up phase of the transformation to the cloud and with OpenIP, Destiny has a strong position to play a pioneering role in this."
