Cooley Partner Honored for Collaborative Leadership

San Diego – August 23, 2019 – Corporate Counsel and InsideCounsel have honored Cooley partner Kay Chandler as part of their Women, Influence & Power in Law Awards in the Collaborative Leadership category. The awards spotlight general counsel, in-house leaders and law firm partners who have demonstrated extraordinary leadership and businesses acumen, as well as a commitment to advancing the empowerment of women in law. The honorees are to be celebrated at an awards dinner October 16 in Washington, DC. Since joining Cooley in 1988, Chandler has worked to significantly increase the number of women and minorities in leadership roles at the firm and in the legal profession and to drive compensation fairness and equity across gender, race and ethnicity. She leads two impactful Cooley committees, serving as co-chair of the Women’s Initiative and chair of the partner compensation committee. Under Chandler’s leadership, Cooley received its eighth Gold Standard Certification from the Women in Law Empowerment Forum. Also in her tenure, the firm has been named a seven-time Best Law Firm for Women by Working Mother Magazine and the #1 law firm for women for four consecutive years on Fortune magazine’s Best Workplaces for Women list.
