Glenn Richards, executive director of Voice on the Net Coalition, to Discuss Transition to IP Networks
Delray Beach, Fla., August 27, 2013 - The Cloud Communications Alliance (CCA), the only industry peer association specifically dedicated to the advancement of cloud communications technologies, announced that Glenn Richards, executive director of the Voice on the Net Coalition and veteran telecommunications attorney, will discuss the transition to IP networks at the CCA's upcoming meeting in San Diego. Richards's presentation will focus on recent leadership changes within the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and important FCC and state public service commission proceedings designed to facilitate the transition to IP networks. Specifically, he will discuss how this transition will impact cloud communications solutions providers, and the benefits and challenges they may see as a result. "There are many changes taking place on both the federal and state levels that will greatly impact the way organizations manage their telecommunications," said Richards. "Cloud communications will be directly impacted, and there will be a number of opportunities for providers. My goal with this discussion is to provide insight into those opportunities and the potential roadblocks." "The government is taking significant steps to facilitate IP-based networks, and our members need to know what those steps are, when they're going to be implemented, and what it all means," said Joseph Marion, president, CCA. "We're thrilled to have Glenn present on this important topic at our upcoming meeting, adding to an already stacked agenda that promises to bring great value and insight to our members. The third quarter CCA meeting will take place on October 14 th and 15 th at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront Hotel and will immediately precede the Broadsoft Connections Conference.
