July 16, 2019 - Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck is pleased to announce that it has been named to
Working Mother’s 2019 “Best Law Firms for Women” list. Brownstein was among the 60 law firms that earned spots on this year’s list, which recognizes firms that utilize best practices in recruiting, retaining, promoting and developing women lawyers. Now in its 12th year, the list also highlights firms that have expanded their women’s initiatives and programs dedicated to the mentoring, sponsorship and promotion of women lawyers, as well as diversity and inclusion programs. “We’re honored to be recognized as one of
Working Mother’s ‘Best Law Firms for Women’,” said Shareholder Ali Metzl, who founded and co-chairs Brownstein’s Women’s Leadership Initiative (WLI). “Brownstein has dedicated substantial resources to demonstrate its unyielding commitment to the recruitment, development and promotion of our female attorneys.” Brownstein has made great strides with the recent introduction of a variety of career-advancement and work-life initiatives. In 2018, Brownstein introduced a “Transitions Matter” suite of programs, including a reduced billable hours requirement following parental leave and a reduced work schedule policy. Earlier this year, the firm enhanced medical and parental leave for childbirth and adoption, introduced backup care and additional family support benefits, and launched a working parents’ network in addition to continuing its commitment to achieving and sustaining Mansfield Rule certification and the various professional development, networking and mentoring programs sponsored by the WLI. The firm, through the WLI, will continue to make innovative changes in its approach to supporting and advancing women lawyers and policy professionals in its quest to be a welcoming, supportive and fulfilling work environment.
