September 8, 2022 - Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck welcomes Jeffrey Santry to its Intellectual Property Department as of counsel. Based in the firm’s Denver office, Santry will focus on domestic and international patent preparation and prosecution. “I’m pleased to welcome Jeff to our talented patent prosecution team here at Brownstein. His focus on high-technology patents along with his previous communications, engineering and executive business experience are a great addition as we work with clients to maximize the value of their intellectual property and patent portfolio assets,” said Craig Hemenway, Brownstein’s Intellectual Property Department chair. Santry is highly knowledgeable in a variety of technology areas and adept at claiming complex, inventive concepts from high-level network architectures to intricate integrated circuit designs working with top scientist in industry. He possesses a high degree of legal, business and technical acumen, with well- honed advisory skills and an aptitude for providing strategic, commercially focused and solution-driven intellectual property legal counsel. Santry provides freedom-to-operate and invalidity/non-infringement analysis and opinions and prepares claim charts on standards-essential technologies for licensing negotiation and litigation. Complementing his extensive domestic patent prosecution experience, Santry possesses a comprehensive understanding of the procedures for procuring international patents and the patent laws of many foreign countries. Before practicing law, Santry held engineering and senior leadership positions with several multinational telecommunications companies, including Comcast and AT&T. He regularly works with clients in the wireless communications, semiconductor, software and medical device industries. Santry received a bachelor’s of science degree in electrical engineering and an MBA in finance and international business from the University of Cincinnati. He received his J.D. from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, where he was a member of the Denver University Law Review and Moot Court Board.
