Broadview’s OfficeSuite UC Provides Critical Security Features to Businesses Nationwide

BroadviewNetworks-Logo-MainRigorous Third-Party Audit Validates OfficeSuite UC™ is a Secure, Compliant and Reliable Unified Communications Solution

RYE BROOK, N.Y.--February 27, 2017-- Broadview Networks ®, a leader in cloud-based unified communications (UC) and information technology services, today announced that it has been verified to be compliant with the Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements (SSAE) 16 standards after undergoing an independent third-party audit by Marcum LLP that assessed the security of its network, related policies and procedures. In addition, Broadview has completed Service Organization Control (SOC 2 and SOC 3) audits, which measure critical controls essential for IT and data center service providers. These audits recognize that its flagship product, OfficeSuite UC™, maintains effective controls over the security of customers’ information. "Security is one of our top priorities. Many of our customers, especially those in industries with regulatory oversight, such as healthcare and financial services, require providers to be SSAE 16 compliant,” said Ken Shulman, Broadview’s Chief Technology and Chief Information Officer. “This audit helps to ensure our customers that their data will be handled with care.” The design of the OfficeSuite UC™ system is unique in that 100 percent of customer and employee data is encrypted in transport and stored on secure servers within Broadview’s cloud infrastructure. Storing everything in a secure cloud environment means its customer data is protected from potential security threats on-site. Broadview accomplishes this level of security by a system called SilNet™, instead of SIP or open-source platforms. Customers can further enhance security by using a private MPLS network connection instead of the internet to transport voice calls and data to Broadview’s network. In addition to the security related features mentioned above, Broadview continues to execute HIPAA business associate agreements (BAAs) for customers in the healthcare field.
