BroadSoft Launches BroadCloud Unified Communication Service in Japan

Company Announces Full Commercial Operations in Japanese Market at BroadSoft Cloud Connect Event in Tokyo GAITHERSBURG, MD and TOKYO, JAPAN – May 26, 2016 – BroadSoft, Inc. (NASDAQ: BSFT), a global unified communication as a service (UCaaS) leader, announced that it had launched its BroadCloud ® service in Japan and has commenced full commercial operations in Japan. As previously announced, BroadSoft acquired Tokyo-based PBXL KK, a provider of innovative cloud-based communication solutions, in November 2015, which has been renamed BroadSoft Japan KK. BroadCloud is a fully-managed service that allows Japanese service providers to deliver BroadSoft’s comprehensive UC-One ® unified communications services to their customer base. BroadCloud eliminates a service provider’s need to make substantial capital investments to launch new IP voice and Unified Communications services. BroadCloud enables service providers to deliver transformative cloud PBX and UC services that can reduce management complexity and costs, while enhancing productivity and mobility relative to premise-based systems. Recognized as one of the largest and most innovative mobile telephony markets in the world, Japan, like many other countries, is undergoing a significant transition from traditional PSTN’s to IP-based voice and mobile services. Japan also has a number of characteristics that make it an ideal environment for BroadSoft’s award-winning BroadWorks ® platform, UC-One offering and BroadCloud services. These include the rapidly growing demand for bring-your-own-device (BYOD) services, a highly mobile culture and the unusually large installed base of active facsimile machines, which will move to IP-based services in the next several years. In March 2016, BroadSoft announced its first Japanese service provider customer, NIFTY Japan. NIFTY’s ShaMo! service has since launched and is supported on the BroadCloud platform. Takaya Ueno, Chief Information Officer and General Manager Cloud Business Division, NIFTY stated: “We are very pleased to be BroadCloud’s first customer in Japan and welcome their official launch in the Japanese market. We look forward to many years of successful collaboration with the BroadSoft Japan team.” At the BroadSoft Tokyo Cloud Connect event, Jim Weisser, General Manager, BroadCloud Japan, said, “We are delighted to be officially launching BroadCloud Japan and the BroadSoft business in the Japanese market place. The business potential in Japan is very significant, and we are pleased that we have the opportunity to work closely with some of the most innovative service provider customers in the world here. Japan is an exciting market place, and we are committed to building our relationships with our customers here, developing our internal teams, and continuing to contribute to our customer’s long-term success.” For additional information, visit http://www.BroadSoft.com.
