Announcement Made at BroadSoft Connections 2013: Go Beyond
SAN DIEGO, CA--(Marketwired - Oct 17, 2013) -
BroadSoft, Inc. (NASDAQ:
BSFT) today announced significant enhancements to its UC-One
® platform, including BroadWorks Collaborate™ and BroadSoft Xtended
® Dialer for Chrome. The UC-One enhancements were announced at BroadSoft Connections: Go Beyond, the Company's 11
th annual users' conference being held October 16-19, 2013 in San Diego, Calif. BroadWorks Collaborate is a new unified communications (UC) delivery model that makes UC services available through server software that resides within the service provider's network. BroadSoft Xtended Dialer for Chrome is an extension that allows end-users to access, control and manage their BroadSoft UC services from a Chrome web browser. BroadSoft also announced mobility enhancements for Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) capabilities and a new BroadSoft Xcelerate
® customer portal. BroadSoft Connections is one of the largest, longest running industry users' conferences and brings together more than 950 attendees, including 77 BroadSoft ecosystem partners from 44 countries. UC-One technology and feature enhancements were announced for all four key components of the UC-One platform:
User Experience: BroadWorks Collaborate To arm service providers with flexibility in how they acquire and deliver UC services, BroadSoft is introducing BroadWorks Collaborate -- a new delivery model that makes UC services available through server software that resides within the service provider's network. Service providers now have the ability to utilize BroadSoft's UC capabilities via BroadWorks
® server software or through BroadCloud
®, BroadSoft's fully-hosted cloud platform.
Openness: BroadSoft Xtended Dialer for Chrome BroadSoft Xtended is an ecosystem that encourages the interoperability and integration of BroadSoft's communications solutions with 3rd-party applications, devices and systems. The new BroadSoft Xtended Dialer for Chrome application allows users to access, control and manage their BroadSoft UC services directly from a Chrome browser. Users have the ability to search and click-to-call their Google and BroadWorks
® enterprise contacts, click-to-call phone numbers on any webpage or web-based application, display incoming call notifications, and access call history.
Mobility: Dual Personas As Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) adoption continues to permeate the workforce, BroadSoft UC-One enables service providers to equip end-users with a "dual persona" on personal or enterprise-provided devices. Employees will be able to separate business and personal voice and UC services (including business and personal contacts, call logs and chat sessions) when they utilize BroadSoft's BroadTouch Business Communicator, which provides a secure environment on the device for business applications and data and is controllable by the enterprise.
Go-to-Market: Redesigned Xcelerate BroadSoft believes that it is critical for service providers to be equipped with market-ready offerings which package, price and promote unified communications services for each customer segment. Service providers now have access to BroadSoft's redesigned customer portal -- Xcelerate -- which in the last 12 months has doubled its available go-to-market sales, lead generation and fulfillment resources, and now has a more intuitive design format and enhanced search capabilities. "I am extremely excited by the traction UC-One has experienced in just one year; these new enhancements demonstrate our commitment to investing in all of the platform's elements so that our service provider customers can extend their hosted voice solutions to full unified communications," said Michael Tessler, chief executive officer, BroadSoft. "It is particularly rewarding to be able to share these new UC-One capabilities with the largest number of attendees we have ever had in eleven years of holding our annual users' conference." The theme of BroadSoft Connections: Go Beyond is built around empowering service providers to "go beyond" voice-only with offerings that not only enable the delivery of unified communications services but mobile UC as well. At the conference, BroadSoft will detail how this can be achieved through these key enhancements to UC-One, a comprehensive, open unified communications platform that combines all of the critical elements a telecommunications service provider requires to ensure rapid delivery of their UC solutions to the market segments they serve, and includes a single end-user experience, full mobility, open APIs and market-ready offerings.
