Adamo will increase the Internet connection speed from 100 to 1,000 megabytes in the 8 towns of Navia

  • Andés, Anleo, Piñera, Polavieja, Puerto de Vega, Villanueva, Villapedre and the town that gives its name to the council will have the fastest online connection on the market.
  • The operator's fiber optic has been operating since December 1 in the Navia core, being already available for 500 homes.
  • After deploying in Coaña or Luarca, the company continues with the installation in the Principality of its own infrastructure, which makes the difference in terms of power.
  • The company will connect 43,000 homes in Asturias -up to a total of 450,000 in 19 Spanish provinces- by receiving 72 million -9 for the region- in grants to deploy its network in rural areas.
Navia - December 14, 2020 - Adamo  continues with the deployment of its own fiber optic network in Asturias. After turning on its infrastructure on December 1 in Navia, today there are 500 households that have high-speed Internet access in this population. The telecommunications operator lands, as usual, with the fastest optical fiber in the market, shooting the previous capacity from 100 to 1,000 Mbps. Adamo, present in the eight towns of Navia In its philosophy of leaving no one behind, the company will be able to bridge the digital divide suffered by many navigators. In this way, Andés, Anleo, Piñera, Polavieja, Puerto de Vega, Villanueva, Villapedre and the very town that gives its name to the council -that is, the eight that make up Navia- will have this connection speed. Support from the Navia City Council In this expansive process, the company has the collaboration of the Navia City Council, which at all times facilitates the work of Adamo's technicians. The mayor, Ignacio García, showed his harmony with the activity that Adamo is carrying out in the presentation of the arrival of fiber optics to the council. It was also attended by Francisco Varela, head of Northwest Infrastructures of the Ibiocom company, local  partner of Adamo, as well as David Llano, delegate of the latter company in the area. Bet on Asturias with its own network Although Adamo already provides service in the Principality, Adamo's own network deployment in Asturias is in the early stages. In other words, the operator will continue to connect other councils in the region with the world. An example of the towns in which it is already active are the more than 4,300 households that will benefit from high-speed Internet in the council of Valdés, which includes the town of Luarca, or the 700 in Coaña. Having your own network is the aspect that makes the difference in terms of speed: with the Adamo connection you can reach the aforementioned 1,000 Mbps. More than 9 million aid for fiber optics in Asturias This growth will be boosted to provide high-speed Internet to 42,831 more families in the region. In total, the number of real estate units connected by Adamo will increase by 450,000 in 19 Spanish provinces within two years. This growth will be possible thanks to the aid of  the New Generation Broadband Program (PEBA) of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation, which is co-financed by the European Union (EU). Altogether, Adamo is awarded 72 million euros, 9 of which will go to Asturias. 165 million investment in rural areas Adamo's investment will complete a figure of 165 million euros to bring its fiber optic network to areas without coverage. In this way, the company establishes itself as the leading operator in rural Spain. The coronavirus does not stop the expansion of Adamo In fact, this growth rate is hardly influenced by the emergence of COVID-19: the telecommunications operator brings fiber optics to 25,000 new homes per month in Spain despite the coronavirus. Today's times require telecommunications operators to be able to meet the enormous demand that exists for a quality Internet connection. For this, as already mentioned, Adamo offers the fastest optical fiber on the market (1,000 Mbps), which translates into being able to telework with a stable connection, maintain videoconferences without interruptions, be closer to family and friends who live far away. , pass medical consultations through the Internet, have the possibility of accessing education remotely or watching series or enjoying  online video games  , among other options. The same opportunities for rural areas In this way, the telecommunications company continues its support for connectivity in rural areas. In that sense, Adamo's commitment is clear: to bring fiber optics to historically forgotten environments, to every corner of the country. Hence, the company has become the reference operator in rural Spain, offering service in towns with fewer inhabitants, such as Navia, which does not reach 8,400 inhabitants. An expansion plan worth 250 million This is possible thanks to an ambitious expansion plan that reaches 250 million euros, the results of which are the already 10,000 kilometers of Adamo's own network, as well as having the necessary technology to connect the rural world, thanks to which Adamo it already offers service in 600 municipalities throughout the country. Adamo collaborates in establishing population in rural areas These actions assume that the operator supports the development and stabilization of the rural population, thus favoring the competitiveness of those areas that have been losing inhabitants to turn them into an attractive option to live. At this juncture it is essential not to leave anyone behind. Both those who already reside in villages, towns and small cities and those who, due to circumstances, choose to move to a smaller municipality. Adamo Fiberhood With the precise aim of providing high-speed fiber optics to the most remote areas, the company has an innovative tool:  Adamo Fiberhood . It is a system by which, only with the joint request of 30 neighbors through a simple website, it is enough for the company to deploy fiber optics in their municipality. In this way, Fiberhood is positioned as one of the key instruments that allows Adamo to reach places that other operators cannot. In the case of Navia:  https://adamo.es/es/fiberhood/fibra-navia ABOUT ADAMO: Adamo, based in Barcelona, is an operator with a national vocation, but with a regional and local business focus. Present in the Spanish market since 2007, the company gives priority to rural areas and new urban areas with a high population density, providing the fastest optical fiber on the market (1,000 Mbps). EQT Partners, Adamo's investment fund and majority shareholder, backs its current expansion plan, boosted in early 2020 with 250 million euros. Likewise, Adamo is the main awardee of the New Generation Broadband Program (PEBA-NGA 2020-2022), funded by the State and the EU, having received72 million in grants to bring high-speed Internet to 450,000 homes located in rural areas of 19 provinces. Thanks to having its own infrastructure, in addition to the Internet, Adamo provides fixed and mobile telephony customers, as well as services for the business and wholesale market.
