Adamo renews 30 of its vehicles in Castilla y León, Cantabria, Asturias and Galicia to minimize the environmental impact of its fleet

  • The operator modernizes vans and cars so that both the installation and maintenance of its fiber optic network are carried out in a sustainable way.
  • The company continues to adopt measures to be as efficient and as less polluting as possible when traveling.
  • Adamo, which already has 10,000 kilometers of its own infrastructure and offers service in 600 locations, connects 25,000 new homes in the country every month despite the coronavirus.
Santander - January 25, 2021 - Adamo  continues to deepen its commitment to sustainable growth. On this occasion, by renewing 30 of the vehicles with which it operates in various areas of Castilla y León, Cantabria, Asturias and Galicia. It is a key tool for the operator, since they are the vans and cars that their technicians use both to install and to carry out the maintenance tasks of their high-speed Internet network. It should be remembered that this equipment provides the fastest optical fiber on the market today (1,000 Mbps). Minimizing environmental impact, the key The objective of the company when adopting this measure is to be as efficient and as least polluting as is technically possible when traveling to pull the cable and, subsequently, take care of it. These journeys, obviously, are fundamental and common in Adamo's activity. In Cantabria, with Ibiocom The renewal of the fleet -which already includes several 100% electric vehicles in these and other areas of Spain- has been carried out by Ibiocom, Adamo's  partner in these communities. In fact, Ángel Lázaro, responsible for Installation and Maintenance (I + M) in the latter company, accompanied David Llano, area manager in the North Zone of Adamo, in the presentation of the new vehicles. The coronavirus does not stop the expansion of Adamo It should be noted, regarding the deployment of the operator, that its growth rate is hardly influenced by the emergence of COVID-19: Adamo brings fiber optics to 25,000 new homes per month in Spain despite the coronavirus. Only in Cantabria, to refer to one of the territories in which the 'teleco' has renewed part of its fleet, there are up to 5,000 new addresses a month even in a pandemic era. Advantages of Adamo Fiber Optics Current times - marked by the coronavirus - require telecommunications operators to be able to meet the enormous demand that exists for a quality Internet connection. For this, as already mentioned, Adamo offers the fastest optical fiber on the market (1,000 Mbps), which translates into being able to telecommute with a stable connection, maintain video conferences without interruptions, and be closer to family and friends who live far away. , having the possibility of accessing education remotely or watching series or enjoying video games  online, among other options. The same opportunities for rural areas The company continues its support for connectivity in rural areas. In this sense, Adamo's commitment is clear: to bring fiber optics to all corners of the country, also to historically forgotten environments. Hence, the company has become the reference operator in rural Spain, offering service in towns and areas where others do not reach. An expansion plan worth 250 million This is possible thanks to an ambitious expansion plan that reaches 250 million euros, the results of which are the already 10,000 kilometers of its own network that Adamo has nationwide and having the necessary technology to connect the rural world, thanks to which Adamo already offers service in 600 municipalities across the country. Adamo collaborates in establishing population in rural areas In this way, the operator collaborates with the development and stabilization of the rural population, thus favoring the competitiveness of those areas that have been losing inhabitants to make them an attractive option to live. At this juncture it is essential not to leave anyone behind. Both those who already reside in villages, towns and small cities and those who, due to circumstances, choose to move to a smaller municipality. Adamo Fiberhood With the precise aim of providing high-speed fiber optics to the most remote areas, the company has an innovative tool:  Adamo Fiberhood . It is a system through which, only with the joint request of 30 neighbors through a simple website, it is enough for the company to deploy fiber optics in their municipality. In this way, Fiberhood is positioned as one of the key instruments that allows Adamo to reach places that other operators cannot,  with each town having its own group. ABOUT ADAMO: Adamo, based in Barcelona, is an operator with a national vocation, but with a regional and local business focus. Present in the Spanish market since 2007, the company gives priority to rural areas and new urban areas with a high population density, providing the fastest optical fiber on the market (1,000 Mbps). EQT Partners, Adamo's investment fund and majority shareholder, supports its current expansion plan, boosted in early 2020 with 250 million euros. Likewise, Adamo is the main awardee of the New Generation Broadband Program (PEBA-NGA 2020-2022), funded by the State and the EU, having received72 million in grants to bring high-speed Internet to about 470,000 homes located in rural areas of 19 provinces. Thanks to having its own infrastructure, in addition to the Internet, Adamo provides fixed and mobile telephony customers, as well as services for the business and wholesale market.
