Adamo deploys fiber optics in Valdáliga, the eighth largest Cantabrian municipality

  • The operator brings the fastest Internet connection on the market to the town of 2,150 inhabitants, despite the technical effort involved in installing it in its almost 100 km².
  • The company already provides connection to more than 200 homes in Treceño, will include another 160 in Caviedes in June and will expand before the end of the year in the rest of the towns of Valdáliga: Labarces, Lamadrid, Roiz, San Vicente del Monte and El Yew.
  • The operator exceeds the 60 million invested in Cantabria -over the 40 expected in 2017- and will add 47,000 homes to the 155,000 that it maintains with service in the Community to exceed 200,000 homes on the network by the end of 2022.
Valdáliga - May 27, 2021 - Adamo continues with its expansion in Cantabria, including large municipalities. Thus,  at the beginning of 2021 it began to deploy high-speed Internet in Campoo de Suso -the second by extension of the Community- and now it does the same in Valdáliga, the eighth in the classification by square kilometers of the more than 100 Cantabrian municipalities. In this way, the operator carries out the technical and human effort necessary to connect dispersed population centers, since, despite its 100 square kilometers, Valdáliga only has 2,150 residents. Adamo: the fastest connection From the outset, the company already supplies the fastest fiber optic in the market (1,000 Mbps) to more than 200 homes in Treceño, it will include another 160 homes in Caviedes during the month of June and will expand in the rest of the towns of Valdáliga throughout the second semester. They are Labarces, Lamadrid, Roiz, San Vicente del Monte and El Tejo. Support from the Valdáliga City Council The actions already carried out and the development plan for the following months were recently presented by David Llano, head of Adamo in Cantabria, to the mayor of the municipality. Lorenzo Manuel González Prado closely follows the progress of the work and stays in contact with Adamo technicians while they deploy fiber optics in the area. In this sense, the company appreciates the interest and collaboration of the Valdáliga councilor. More than 60 million for Cantabria This new step is part of the large investment made by the company in the region. In fact, it is the autonomous community in which it has developed the most, considering the proportion per inhabitants. This bet means that Adamo has dedicated more than 60 million euros to the installation of the network in Cantabria, having comfortably exceeded the 40 million budgeted four years ago. More than 155,000 connected homes The operations in Valdáliga represent the latest sign of the commitment made by the company to provide high-speed Internet connection to the towns in the area. It should be remembered that the Adamo network supplies fiber optics to more than 155,000 homes in Cantabria. In fact, this growth rate is hardly influenced by the emergence of COVID-19: the operator installs its infrastructure in 5,000 new homes per month in Cantabria despite the pandemic. More than 200,000 households by the end of 2022 Likewise, the company's forecast is to serve 47,000 more Cantabrian families in the next two years. Added to the 155,000 it already has in its portfolio, there will be more than 200,000 households connected by Adamo. Adamo Fiber Optic Advantages Current times - marked by the coronavirus - require telecommunications operators to be able to meet the enormous demand that exists for a quality Internet connection. For this, as already mentioned, Adamo offers the fastest fiber optic on the market (1,000 Mbps), which translates into being able to telecommute with a stable connection, maintain videoconferences without interruptions, and be closer to family and friends who live far away. , having the possibility of accessing education remotely, making medical appointments remotely or watching series or enjoying  online video games  , among other options. Adamo Fiberhood In order precisely to provide high-speed Internet to the most remote areas, the company has an innovative tool:  Adamo Fiberhood . Through it, only with the joint request of 30 neighbors through a simple website, it is enough for the company to deploy fiber optics in their municipality. Each town has its own group: In the case of Valdáliga:  https://adamo.es/es/fiberhood/fibra-valdaliga ABOUT ADAMO: Adamo, based in Barcelona, is an operator with a national vocation, but with a regional and local business focus. Present in the Spanish market since 2007, the company gives priority to rural areas and new urban areas with a high population density, providing the fastest optical fiber on the market (1,000 Mbps). EQT Partners, Adamo's investment fund and majority partner, supports its current expansion plan, boosted at the beginning of 2020 with 250 million, the results of which are, at the moment, 10,000 kilometers of its own network and already providing service in 700 municipalities. Likewise, Adamo is the main awardee of the New Generation Broadband Program (PEBA-NGA 2020-2022), funded by the State and the EU, having received 80 million in grants to bring high-speed Internet to nearly 500,000 homes located in rural areas of 20 provinces. Thanks to having its own infrastructure, in addition to the Internet, Adamo provides fixed and mobile telephony customers, as well as services for the business and wholesale market.
