2015 Cloud Business Intelligence Market Study Now Available From Dresner Advisory Services

Concept Retains Mid-Tier Importance; More Than Half of Survey Respondents Using or Planning to Use Cloud Business Intelligence in Near Future
NASHUA, NH--(Marketwired - Mar 31, 2015) - Dresner Advisory Services today published the 4 th Edition Cloud Business Intelligence Market Study, part of the Wisdom of Crowds® series of research. The 2015 Cloud Business Intelligence (BI) report examines usage trends and perceptions of Cloud BI, defined as the technology, tools, and solutions that employ one or more cloud deployment models including private cloud, public cloud, and hybrid cloud. The newest edition of the Cloud BI Market Study features analysis of current Cloud BI usage and a year over year comparison of user intentions, deployment patterns, and industry support for Cloud BI features. The perceived benefits of Cloud BI continue to reflect conventional wisdom of cost savings, easier maintenance, and greater access to BI. The primary barrier to adoption across the board remains security concerns, according to the report. "We began analyzing the Cloud BI market while it was still in its early days and have tracked with great interest the shifts in deployment and perception that have surfaced over the past four years," said Howard Dresner, founder and chief research officer at Dresner Advisory Services. "Most telling, those organizations who perceive themselves as more successful with their business intelligence projects are those most likely to use Cloud BI today." Among other findings, the report showed that the sales and marketing function attaches the greatest importance to Cloud BI and leads overall usage, and both the very small and very large organizations assign the most importance to Cloud BI. Private Cloud BI models remain the most preferred, followed by Public Cloud. "Interest in most Cloud BI features is increasing over time, with fundamental functionality such as self-service data access, dashboards, and visualization at the top of the list," continued Mr. Dresner. "We are encouraged to see industry importance and support for Cloud BI continue to increase, as we see this as a positive signal of potential future adoption." Wisdom of Crowds® research is based on data collected on usage and deployment trends, products, and vendors. BI users in all roles and throughout all industries contributed to provide a complete view of realities, plans, and perceptions of the BI market. To purchase a copy of the 2015 Cloud Business Intelligence Market Study, visit www.cloudbireport.com.
